Ipsy Unboxing- January 2015

Hi! So today I have my first unboxing of the new year. Ipsy is a monthly beauty box subscription that costs $10 per month. Each month you receive 4-5 full size or deluxe sized products and a makeup bag. This is my favorite beauty box subscription service because you get some brands you recognize and some you don't know. 

The makeup bag is cute this month, with a pink zipper and is white on one side and royal blue on the other side. 

Mojito Lip Balm- This is a clear lipgloss/ chapstick. It is a little sticky (not to bad though), but I still love this item. You can layer a chapstick, lipstick, and then add this for a little shine without messing up the color.

PacificaNatural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow- This is a pretty big single eyeshadow. You cannot buy single eyeshadows, but you can buy them in a palette. The shade is a pearly, sparkly, pigmented light brown/ skin color. This could be an everyday color or built up for a night out color.
Price- Could not find (eyeshadows not sold personally)

Hikari CosmeticsMechanical Eye Liner- So here is another eyeliner (I am not a huge eyeliner fan) and I feel like every other month I receive a eyeliner from Ipsy. It is a twist up eyeliner and is a [faint] sparkly silver shade. I personally do not know how often I will wear this eyeliner.

La Fresh Eco-BeautyBe Good. Good Day. Day Moisturizer- This is a daily face moisturizer. It is supposed to hydrate your skin and make it look fresher and happier. For the size of the packet, there is not a lot of product. I personally do not like receiving skincare items in Ipsy, because I already have a set routine.

Velvet 59 Velvet Rose Lipgloss- This is a lipgloss with a brush applicator. It is quite sticky, which is why I tend to not wear lipglosses. This is a mauvey shade with a slight pinky undertone and is pretty sheer, so it is good for everyday.
Price- $19

Overall price of bag- $84 (minus the eyeshadow) and I only paid $10!

Fight the Cold

Sick Tips/Prevention

So right now I am fighting a cold, and I thought it would be nice to tell you guys how I try to prevent colds (even though they sometimes don't work:(). These tips are just prevention for getting sick that I use. I cannot guarantee these will work, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

1) REST. When I feel a cold coming on I try to get extra sleep or relax more. I also tend to wear more comfy, cozy clothes (sweatshirts, cartigans...[haha these are just my everyday normal clothes])

2) Eat Healthy. I try to eat more vegetables and drink more water when I am not feeling to good. Water will help you not get dehydrated and is just really good for your body overall. Also, I try to not eat as much junk food/ candy.

3) Vitamins. I try to remember to take my vitamins everyday, especially in the winter. I also take Vitamin C vitamins during the winter. There is also medicine you can use to either boost your immune system, or treat a cold if you get one.

4) Moisturize. So this may not be a sick tip, but when I get a stuffy nose I like to use a heavy duty chapstick and face moisturizer because I can get really dry, flaky skin. I especially have to moisturize around my nose and lips. 

5) So if all else fails and you do end up getting sick, here are some of my essentials to be comfy and get better. 
- Tissues to blow your nose all day 
- Blankets to snuggle up in all day to be cozy and warm
- Netflix (or any other TV/ movie service) to watch all day if you get stuck in bed 
- Water to stay hydrated and not get sicker
- Extra vitamins/ medicine
- Popsicles to eat because they feel really good on a sore throat and are just really yummy

OOTD- January 2015

This outfit is perfect for going to school [like me], going to a basketball game, or just chilling with your friends. 

Also, I have some exciting news. I have come up with a schedule, so every Monday I will post something new with the occasional extra post.

UGG boots ~ Utility Jacket ~ Jeans ~ T-Shirt 

I am wearing these dark wash jeans with lighter patches on my knees and thighs and my chocolate, fuzzy UGG boots. Can I just say that American Eagle jeans are super comfy and fit me really well.

I am wearing one of my new, favorite shirts. It is a short sleeve shirt with a slight v-neck in a beautiful maroon color. This shirt is stretchy and super soft. I may or may not own this shirt in blue and gray too.

My jacket is this utility jacket that cinches at the waist to frame my petite figure. It has many pockets which is really handy. The color is a faded olive, green,patterned dark green/ brown on the sleeves, and a faded, gold zipper. I love this jacket because you can wear it with many different outfits. Plus,it is a good way to layer [which I need to do more] without being bulky or to hot.

For jewelry I am just wearing these sparkly, heart earrings I have no idea where I got them. I also have on this ring with clear jewels from Tillys and a purply- blue nail polish from Urban Outfitters. 

My hair is just straightened and I am wearing a sparkly, light smokey eye with a pink NYX lip gloss.

This is an outfit I wore the other day. It is perfect for a winter day (cold or super

cold even though it doesn't get very cold in California). I layered a short sleeve shirt under a jacket and wore warm boots.
